The Tour of Homes Ride

This morning I rode my new bike (well it’s a used bike, but new to me) on a route I planned out pre-food poisoning, behold the Tour of Homes Ride. It encompasses all the houses I’ve lived in the area. The house in Indian Mills (or Shamong Township as some know it), my home from 8th grade to college in Medford, the home that I bought two years ago in Medford Lakes, and my parent’s current place on Stokes. Kind of weird to ride by these places I knew, they’ve all changed since I’ve been there. And me, with a goatee with some gray in it these days – I’ve changed too.

Last night after playing with the kids, I headed home to address an issue with the PslingNY online store, fixed some CSS pieces of the Kuma redesign, helped LarryMac with some settings on the Wheelies OSC store, and fixed the header and sidebar on my blog (removed the Pages link, and added a link to the furiousBall.com home page).

Tonight Viv is going to stay over with me, which will be good for Dana to get some one on one time with my son and me with Viv too. I have a feeling Viv will want to watch Curious George at least a gagillion times. I may take her over to my buddy Chris’ place on the way home to visit and play with his daughter. Chris is building an extension on their home (he’s in Medford Lakes too) for twins that will be arriving soon and also some space for Chris to do some recording (he wants some ideas for that space).

I picked up my PRS, the PodXT, and some sweaters last night from my home in Medford Lakes. I hope to start making music again some time soon. The time that Dana and the kids will be away in December will be a good time to get down to that. I’m curious to see what’s going to come out from my life lately. I haven’t played a note in at least 2 months now and I think in a way. Why? It’s similar to how you avoid listening to sad love songs when you travel down a path like I’m on right now. Jeff Buckley’s Grace is completely forbidden music right now.

Make music good!!! Good art can come from pain, and you might as well get something out of all of this, right?

That looks like a cool route you had planned. I usually don’t plan things out so much, although I would if I was trying to go to a bunch of different places in one ride like that. That gmap-pedometer site is cool, too.

I hope you do get to do some music soon. Something awesome is bound to come out!

By the way, your “Home” link at the top doesn’t work quite right. It seems to go up one directory instead; if I click on it from this page, it’ll show the posts for today, then this month, then this year, etc.

Yeah, I know. I realized that this morning, I used a relative link instead of an absolute one ergo, it absolutely sucks

I hope you do make music. Some of the nicest music is about endings (and new beginnings). I’m looking forward to hearing what this part of your life has to say melodically. Might as well use the badness to make some goodness.
