don’t anger the sea bears

My mother-in-law is heading home this morning, she had a great visit. I really am lucky to have such a great MIL. Sure, I worry about her health, but she’s an incredibly sweet soul. She loves my kids so much. She cuddled up with Bubba last night and I took this picture (they were both asleep)…

The kids had a great time with their Nana and she helped us out a lot with the kids while Dana was healing. She talked to me and Dana a lot about getting our family back and healing from the separation. She’s great people and good at throwing popcorn in your mouth too…

I had a Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day yesterday. I had an email arguement with a coworker that was a misunderstanding. I had a small argument with my wife which was another misunderstanding. At that point I was feeling bad for not being clear enough with people around me yesterday. And then I commited the sin that all fathers are guilty of at one time or another, second-guessing a stressed-out momma. I felt really bad after not just doing what Dana asked me to do. I have to turn off my software engineer brain sometimes and just do what she needs. We hugged and kissed and everything is fine. That’s just something I need to work on, don’t anger the stressed momma (similar anger can found in sea bears).

So yesterday, I upgraded to WordPress 2.1 “Ella” and added the category cloud over there too. I got some work done on SidneyK and fixed an issue with Wheelies. I hope I can drum up some more side stuff – I’m still waiting to hear from the Battleship NJ and NJAIHA.

    I love the picture…it makes me want to go snuggle with my kids…and fall asleep.

    Hope today’s a bit better than yesterday…

    Everyone I know is having a horrible week. Hang in there, man, I think this is just one of those weeks where you have to wait for it to end — and it’s almost over now!

    How are you finding 2.1 to work for you? I still have worries about upgrading since the fiasco with upgrading from 1.2 to 1.5, and I had to completely reinstall all of my posts manually.

    Marty – it went smoothly. I did all the backuppery they suggested and I didn’t have any issues. I’ve done most of my customization on the theme level, so I wasn’t too worried. I do however see an issue with my new category clouds not adding a line break at the end…I’ll get you tonight mr. category cloud

    Just noticed this little equation in your header and love it!

    life – love = 0

    true that.

    ……..

    If life-love = 0 then {
    catch (Exception misery) {
    }

    I’m liking Ella so far – having the option to spellcheck is nice.

    Mistakes are gifts if you earn from them. Looks to me like you got a couple of gifts.

    Your MIL looks so young… are you one of those teens from Mtv’s Engaged and Underaged?

    ;-)

    Email arguments can be dangerous transactions because so much is lost in the translation. Sometimes things that would blow over if you were face to face become so much more because meaning is removed. All the smiley face icons in the world just do not seem to change that!:)
