a card-carrying member of the zissou society
After fixing a couple of issues with legalhelpin24hrs.com and investigating a couple issues with the PSling online store, I finally got around to watching Wes Anderson’s The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. I really enjoyed the movie, but then again Anderson’s comedic tempo just really connects with me for some reason. He’s kind of like the kid in creative writing class that always wrote the funniest stories. When he read his section aloud, you waited with baited breath.
I’m working from home today. I’m going to meet with my neighbor, Brian to show him the .NET prototype I’ve been working on for his company this afternoon. I’ve got work to do on the legalhelp website and the PSling online store as well. I’ve also got this day job to take care of too. Luckily, it appears Dana’s migraine has at least receded and given her some relief.
After my meeting this afternoon, I think I’ll take my son to the library and get some new books for him. It actually looks like decent weather this weekend too (knock on wood), perhaps a trip to the Battleship New Jersey is in order. We can attack the Ben Franklin Bridge again.

I’m really glad Dana is finally getting some relief. Good luck with your projects. Our forecast is looking good, too, and I’m really excited.

Glad to hear that she’s feeling better – it sucks having someone close to you who is hurting and you can’t help.

I am so glad Dana is feeling better!
Hope the weekend weather is good so you can go do your fun things!

everyone – thanks for the well wishes…i’m going to the clinic at Jefferson but the soonest they have available is 30th of May.
marty – he does help, a lot by taking care of everything i should be taking care of ON TOP of working his eleventy-million jobs all day and night. he does laundry and dishes i should be doing, feeds the kids i should be feeding, and gets them both fed and to bed while i lay in a medicated fog. this past weekend i literally slept for 30 hours minimum and he did everything.

I love the Life Aquatic soundtrack. Haven’t seen the movie…

I love that movie. I have that movie. I like how disjointed his movies can be. I think a lot of the subtle funny comes from the randomness and lack of cohesiveness, although it still manages to work all together.

apertome – amen, i’m hoping to get a ride in this weekend, i really want to go take a shot of that Wild Boy Rd sign
Marty – yep, I remember you telling me about your wife’s struggle with Lyme disease, it is tough
tori – if there was an opposite of a rain dance, i would do it
mrs. k – i only do all that stuff so you don’t get overwhelmed with all of my sexiness
Chris – yeah, I noticed Sigur Rós on there, always cool to see a band like that make it on a somewhat major motion picture soundtrack
Jay – yeah the slice perspective of the boat they used in a couple scenes was great. Owen Wilson’s Kentucky Air pilot’s outfit complete with the colonel tie ruled

I still haven’t seen that movie yet, but it’s on the list of movies to see. It’ll be nice to have some nice weather again. Hope you have a good weekend.

Not to sound like a total stalker, but I’ve been thinking about Dana. I’m so glad she’s feeling a bit better.

i love that movie. the guy singing odd american pop songs in french, angelica houston, all the randomness and off timing totally work for me too. (the 2 ppl i watched it with were completely baffled at why i found it so funny, go figure)
but i’m here to thank you for enlightening me to an acronym that has been puzzling me in my 3-cat household for a long time: OKSO. now when Operation Knock Shit Over commences…well, suffice it to say that i am onto them and their coded communiCATions will no longer go undicifered. (shhhhh…they may be listening.)

Bottle Rocket is on of my favorite movies of all time, but I just didn’t get The Life Aquatic. It seemed like he was trying to be just short of funny all the time.

Great to hear that your wife is feeling better. I loved The Life Aquatic.

mamatulip – stalking is just another way of saying you care
obsidiankitten – that’s Seu Jorge doing all those Bowie covers in Portugeuse, which I thought was awesome. his cover of Rebel, Rebel is beautiful. it’s amazing how well Bowie’s material translated into Samba/Bossa Nova
Diesel – I haven’t seen Bottle Rocket, I’ll have to put that on my list from the library – thanks for the recommendation
corky – thanks man, you know what that makes you right? A Life Aquatic Lover…

Bottle Rocket–very good movie.
as for the bones: big bones may be bovine, small bones may be deer, any or all may be joseph merrick.
unless you can provide a DNA sample for comparison, the remains remain unidentified remains. i’m not volunteering any further information on the subject.
don’t make me come to jersey and go OKSO on your ass.
