zen in flannel
This was the best Christmas I can remember in a long time. It wasn’t the gifts (although I did score some really nice ones – thanks Carolyn!), it was my two beautiful children being with me. They both were so well behaved yesterday. They said thank you for every gift. They gave kisses and hugs to everyone. And most importantly, they had a really good time.
Today, we’re gonna take it easy. If I have to get out of my new flannel jammy pants, I will consider myself a failure. Tomorrow we’ll be visiting our favorite Battleship, we’ll be getting to say howdy to Hope, who has been great to work with (she’s starting a new job at the Philly Zoo) and she’s going to be a new guitar student of mine.
I’ve got some side stuff to work on today, but nothing major. OK, back to being Zen in the flannel pants. Oh, and making sure my little girl has plenty of oatmeal – which is what she loves now (thanks to Papa for introducing her).

not to put any pressure on you, but the entire blogosphere is going to consider you a failure if you take off those flannel pants. in fact, i challenge you to wear them through thursday afternoon at 3pm.
oh, and the first time i actually click on one of your trademark bottom of the post links? dude. just dude.
okay, post holiday headache needs medicine. later.

You’re welcome. I hope it greatly enhances your snuggle time. I just couldn’t bear to think of you in the cold house all winter, shivering. Hey, I’m a quilter, that’s what we do…spread warmth, one quilt at a time. And if you look carefully, you’ll see it has a lot of the same fabrics as Heather’s quilt.
Can Van read the princess book to Viv? That’s what I was hoping for….

Glad to hear everything is so mellow out your way. Mariel was pretty good most of the day, but really lost it around dinner time. Too much going on, over-tired and over-stimulated, I guess.
Hope you & the kids have a great day and great visit!

Sounds like a perfect day to me! Heck, I just went and shoveled in my pjs.

liv – i hope the guys at the camera stop don’t mind my jammies, my dig cam battery is in it’s death rattle
Carolyn – oh yes, believe me, Viv had me read it about 900 times in a row, no worries about that. Ahh, now that you mentioned it I do see some of them. I liked Heather’s quilt a lot.
Craig – but you know, I was fine if they had acted up. most kids do. i mean what time of year is more stimulating than xmas? pretty good most of the day is awesome in my book – good job you guys.
