hugging through some tears

We had a great day yesterday. Lots of playing outside and we made gingerbread bear cookies with a kit sent to us by Liv and used the honey sent by Open Grove Claudia. There was an ugly reminder about how things are right now at the end of the night, but after me and Bubs talked and hugged through some tears, he was fine. We read about a gagillion stories (lots of Mo Willems) and then went to sleep.

I worked my ass off on the OS Commerce integration with the payment gateway to do my best not to think. It worked a little.

Today me, the kiddos, and my mom are going to see Alvin and the Chipmunks.

alright. i’m going to go ahead and round up the girls to start a 12 step program for blogging women who feel compelled to send mr. furiousball packages. first, it’s probably technically creepy that so many of us have your address. (could attract unwanted visitors) and secondly, it seems to be enabling a wanton obsession with carbohydrates in the form of cookies.

if anyone needs the 411 on this emergency intervention, please feel free to call me.

  2.  Dyna the Great Says:

Glad you guys felt better. Sorry about that pitfall. Uphill now, Baby!

  3.  flutter Says:

I only send cash. Cold, hard cash. I invite those kinds of packages and if anyone feels the need to start sending those out, please email me and I will gladly give you my address.

  4.  april Says:

I would be a member of the 12 step program for sending you cookies. I can send more if you like?? I am truly sorry that things have turned out the way that they did. You know that which does not kill you makes you stronger. Or something like that. I know, it sounds like a load of crap, but I have to believe that there are some good people left in this world and you happen to be one of them. Keep having fun with the kiddos.

  5.  Christy Says:

I took Brae to see Alvin and the Chipmunks. It was cute, but not as reminiscent of the older shows as I had hoped.

Keep your chin up. Your kids are strong, be strong for them, too.

  6.  Logoâ„¢ Says:

Now see, when I saw those cookies I started wondering if YOU would send some cookies to me
    :p
Looks like you guys made some yummy cookies.

  7.  On a Limb with Claudia Says:

Oh my God, those cookies are cute. You have the greatest ideas Van. I hope the movie is fabulous!

It’s such a huge transition for your entire family. I know you will do it with your usual grace and beauty.

  8.  Chris Says:

LOL about the intervention! I’m sorry to hear that you guys had some rough times yesterday. :(

    Cute pajama bottoms, tho. ;)

  9.  Marty Says:

Dude – you must really love your kids to sit through that movie.

  10.  Carolyn Says:

Grace wants to know if you ONLY wear pajamas. Sorry you had a rough spot, glad you got through it together. Hey, how did the snowballs that you saved in the freezer work out?

  11.  mamatulip Says:

Van, I want your address too. I want to send you a mix CD. :)

  12.  tori Says:

Looks like a super fun time. I was going to send you more cookies soon, but it seems that you have that covered! Apparently with all the running and biking and work you do, we all think you need to eat more!

  13.  Jodi Says:

OK, I’m not sending you anything ever.

keep hugging and talking those sweet babies through this.

i bet you let the pigeon drive the bus didn’t you? i bet you did.

  14.  Mary Says:

I think from now on when you get packages that result in the making of cookies, the new rule is YOU have to send US some of the cookies! Who’s with me on this?

  15.  meno Says:

Divorce just sucks. There’s no way around that. But there is a way through it, with lots of hugs.

If you have excess cookies, i will gladly take them off your hands.

  16.  dorky dad Says:

I’m tempted to see Alvin and the Chipmunks. I was a huge fan as a kid. HUGE fan. Then they just disappeared.

  17.  Diesel Says:

You seriously couldn’t pay me to see that movie.

    Happy New Year!

  18.  V-Grrrl Says:

(Van paid me to write that.) : )

  19.  lime Says:

  20.  furiousBall Says:

liv – don’t you stop my cookie supply lady, it’s like oxygen, but with chocalate chips

    Dyna – oui, uphill pronto

flutter – money cookies are fine too

april – yes please, those cookies were great!

Christy – the kids LOVED it, it was kinda week compared to other kid movies. i did get a kick out of seeing David Cross in a kid’s movie tho

Logo – you can have my cookies when you pry them from my cold dead fingers, which will probably be covered in chocalate and crumbs

Open Grove Claudia – in fairness, it was a cookie kit sent by Liv, so she deserves the creativity points

Chris – are you looking at my cookies?

Marty – buddy, you should have seen Viv dancing in the aisles, that was worth the helium voices for sure

Carolyn – in a perfect world, yes I would only wear flannel jammies

mamatulip – i’ll email you post haste

tori – ohhh no, i haven’t run or rode since the kids have been here, combined with all the holiday eating… yeah i need to get back to my fighting weight!

Jodi – damn it Liv, you are cookie-blocking me

Mary – yeah you try and take one of those bear cookies from those two, seriously

meno – word, excess cookies will come your way.

dorky dad – you know, this movie will probably be a disappointment to a fan of the old show, the hip hop a lot of the songs up… yeah, the witch doctor song with hoochie dancers… yeah.

Diesel – you could pay me. actually i’d pay you to see it with my kids

V-Grrrl – i most certainly did not (your check is in the mail btw)

lime – it was really good. that honey Claudia sent me (from her real Appiery) was awesome. movie was fine, the company to see it was better :)
