Van est dans la ville de Québec!
Wow. Quebec is cold. Like really cold. I decided I am not going to lick anything metal outside the entire time I’m here. I’m staying at Hotel Pur, and boy it’s fancy. Below are some shots of my room…
When I woke up this morning, took a nice hot shower and then bundled up for a short walk I should have dried my hair more thoroughly. I realized this because it froze under my hat. And my beard froze too. Oh… and my nose hair. Not kidding about that last one either. And this was during a 9 minute walk too.
Stop being so cold, Quebec. Stop it. No. No.

Why are you in Quebec? Or is that none of my business? And you know, usually Montreal is positively balmy compared to Quebec. This morning nose hairs didn’t freeze here.

I have a close friend that recently took a top position with Bell Heli in Mirabel. His wife is a beautiful Brazilian (modelish) and he has just moved her to where…there. With the freezing temps, I can’t help but wonder what language she curses him in now…Portuguench?

Wimpy New Jerseyian.
Just wait until the wind gets your eyes watering and you squinch them shut and your eyelashes freeze together and you can’t open your eyes.

Looks like a cool hotel. So, I’m sure I missed it, but why are you in the tundra?

Jazz – my company has a small office here, I’m visiting the developers and spreading merriment
C-Rae – I know I’d be cursing a lot here, if my lips weren’t frozen together
Chris – I miss my balmy Garden State, with all the palm trees and … wait.
Marty – here on bidness. and yeah, the hotel is kick ass.
mamatulip – that was the weirdest feeling too. and i’m not sure everyone understands, i’m not kidding, my nose hairs really did freeze.

I’m not kidding either, my nose hairs totally froze. And so did the peachfuzz on my upper lip, because my nose kept running. Which meant my nose hairs kept freezing.

Oh, yeah. I probably should have told you. The heater in the Van is on the fritz right now. Yeah, so you’re probably going to be a little, like, chilly. Yeah. Super. Ok, then…

Welcome to my frozen province! You’re lucky you didn’t arrive here two weeks ago when our temperatures were even worse. It was so cold that just by breathing, any hair that had escaped my hat got wet and then immediately froze so that my hair was solid (literally) white. It was ridiculous. My daughter nearly started to cry and I warned her to stop so her eyes wouldn’t freeze shut.
I’m still trying to figure out why my ancestors got this far and then said, “Yep! This is perfect!” They couldn’t have traveled a little further South?! Like Los Angeles?!

What? did they move the Brazillian model contingency to Quebec??
I think it’s great that you are getting out a little bit. A chance of scenery does wonders. I hope you don’t freeze…

HA! Where I grew up, we used to do that for FUN! Swim team girls do NOT dry their long locks before they head out in 10 degrees weather. They walk home and then they snap their hair dry to annoy all around them.
Which is why I now live in CA instead of PA.
