I need to give some customer service love to my bank (and former employer), TD Bank, especially after the beatings they have received (rightfully so, I might add) with their awesome fuck-up of their online banking consolidation. While paying for a pizza Wedsnesday night, my card was declined – this isn’t uncommon  – my card is old and the magnetic strip is worn away, and I knew I had deposited moolah the day before – ergo, I thought nothing of it. Yesterday, while checking out at the grocery store, it happened again – this time with a message to call my bank. So, ready to yell my head off, I called. And it turns out, TD had prevented some scumbag from using my card to purchase plane tickets to somewhere outside the US. This tripped some sort of flag in their system and they didn’t allow the purchase to go through. Sweet! We’re not all the way back to being friends yet, TD – you did fire a ton of my friends last Thursday – but this helps.
