“And the truth is that I feel better because I’ve forgiven everyone.”

Saturday, January 21st, 2012

Well, we got some snow last night, but it’s raining/sleeting on top of the few inches that fell – so it’s kinda gross outside.

Yesterday, I got my first short run in since the marathon and it went really well. Titan really enjoyed getting out there again – he needs exercise to keep his behavior in check (on some days). And while running, this song by fun. came on my iPod and it got me… mostly because it’s a lesson I’m really working with my son (and myself) on lately – letting your anger and sadness go.

“How did I end up here?
How did I find love and conquer all my fears?
See, I made it out.
Out from under the sun.
And the truth is that I feel better because I’ve forgiven everyone.”

If I Should Fall From Grace With God

Saturday, January 14th, 2012

One ice hockey game done today, and one more to go. Bubs’ team is playing in the AAHA tourney this weekend in Voorhees. They won handily last night, 8-0 (Bubs got an assist) and this morning, they lost in an OT shootout 3-2. We have to get up early again tomorrow for another 7:30am game. And yes, every time we have these early games, this commercial plays in my head…

Oh and I just discovered this… yes, that’s my patio umbrella that apparently decided to fly up into a tree while we were away at Disney! Thankfully, no damage was done to the house or the umbrella.

13 – this was pretty good for a bad movie.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Wednesday, January 4th, 2012

Around this time tomorrow, we will be dropping off Titan at Canine Cottage and then riding to the airport for our flight to Orlando. It’s currently 12 F here in Medford Lakes, NJ and tomorrow in Orlando, it should be right around 70. We’ll take it.

But before we go, today is a very special day. Today is my mother’s birthday. I wouldn’t be without my Mom. But this marathon business would be impossible without her. Her help has been just flat out awesome. We are heading out for some sushi tonight to celebrate at our favorite spot, Wasabi. Happy Birthday to the best Mom ever!

Weekend Recap and Help Needed

Monday, December 12th, 2011

Here’s a weekend recap… Abbe’s brother Luke, his fiancee Malery, and her sweet little girl, Olivia all came to visit and we had a blast. We took Livie to the Adventure Aquarium for her birthday, got some Five Guys for lunch, watched Bubs’ ice hockey team play a game (and we were surprised with my cousin Alyssa and her husband Phil at the game!), and then topped off the night with some Riv pizza and lots of beers. Sunday Abbe and I did our 15 mile training run at Kelly Drive and then I completed an eating challenge (with some help from Abbe) at Ott’s (Da Banger).

With all of this fun and busyness going on there is a very real need for help… we only have until this Friday (December 16th) to get our donations in to LLS. We are currently only $1000 away from our goal of $10,500. I want to repeat something, if Abbe and I do not hit that number, we will be CHARGED the remainder.

If you have not yet donated, please consider even a small donation – $5, $10 DO help!

17 Miles!

Monday, November 28th, 2011

Folks, it’s getting towards desperation time for the fundraising… We are at 57% of our goal as a team and have $4,709 to go by December 16th. In a somewhat pointed post yesterday, I mentioned Abbe, Bill, and I will be charged that difference if we do not hit that number.

Needless to say, we need your help. I will repeat what I said when I posted the last video a couple weeks ago – if you can donate, even a small amount, please do – if not PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE share this video. The last video was only shared twice and both by current donors. Clicking that share button on this blog post costs you nothing and perhaps gives a chance to someone that wants to help a means to do so.

Check out a video taken during our 17 mile run around Kelly Drive in Philadelphia yesterday…

And I also decided, to take a photo at every mile to see how different we look between mile 1 and mile 17… and it appears we are exactly the same goof asses, just a little sweatier…

And here’s us running up the Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Art Museum… forgive the huffing and puffing, this was at the very end of the 17 miles!

Movie Reviews…

Human Centipede – this film had a lot of parallels with The Notebook… except Ryan Gosling’s face wasn’t sewn to Rachel McAdams’ ass. But other than that, very similar.
